Practices, Fees and Expectations

This agreement is designed to clarify and establish our mutual understanding of the expectations (including goals, practices and fees) within the coaching relationship between, Jim Earley (the coach) and Your Name (the client).

In this document, the words "you" and "your" refer to the client named above, and the words "I" and "me" refer to the coach, Jim Earley.

Duration:

Although coaching requires a commitment of time, you are not required to sign a contract or commitment to be coached for any set period of time.

Our expectation is that we will work together for "N" months, review our results, and decide to continue or not.

Definition:

Coaching is a process consisting of conversations designed to aid you in:

Coaching is not psychotherapy, nor should it be used as a substitute for counseling or medical services.

Likewise, coaching is not consulting. The coach is not expected to provide specific, expert direction or advice you would rely on in making specific business or life decisions.

Coaching is not a substitute for legal, financial or specific consulting services.

Coaching Appointments:

Our expectation is that we will meet approximately monthly, with the possibility of an additional meeting or two during the first two months.

In-person sessions normally last between an hour and 75 minutes.   If we need more time for the session to be useful, and we continue longer, the fee for the meeting does not change.

I normally schedule coaching meetings to start at either 9:30, 1:30 or 3:30, and sometimes 11:30.

Our coaching appointments will take place at the Twin Cities area location of your choice.

If we "meet" by phone, telephone coaching meetings are scheduled to last 60 minutes. You will initiate all calls at the scheduled time.

Coaching contacts between sessions:

There is no charge if you initiate an occasional, brief (under 15 minutes) call between scheduled sessions. If you initiate longer or more frequent calls, you will be told that you will be charged a minimum of 15 minutes per contact, pro-rated at the current hourly fee.

There is no charge for calls I initiate to you.

Other meetings:

You may find it useful for me to meet with one or more of your associates to get their perspective on your objectives.   Those meetings will be billed at the same rate and in the same manner as coaching meetings.

Fees for services are:

Payment details:

Canceling or rescheduling appointments:

I ask a minimum of 24 hours notice for rescheduling or canceling appointments or calls.   Monday appointments require notice by Friday. The full fee will be charged for missed sessions without prior notification, except in case of an emergency.

Canceling all coaching services:

You may end/cancel our coaching relationship at any time and for any reason, providing you are current in paying all fees.

Confidentiality :

All information you disclose in our coaching sessions is confidential.   I will not reveal any to anyone without your written permission.

This principle of confidentiality is no different if the coaching sessions are being paid by a third party (your employer, for example).

In the case where the coaching is paid for by another individual or organization, the coach does not provide that individual or organization progress or other reports.

I can, however, be available to receive input from that individual or organization regarding their perspective on your objectives.   There is no charge if I receive that input by phone.   If done within a scheduled, face-to-face meeting, however, it will be billed at the same rate and in the same manner as coaching meetings.

You Guarantee to Deliver:

I ask you to own your half of the equation and guarantee that I will be successful in coaching you.   To do this, I want you to commit to three things.

I Guarantee Your Satisfaction:

If you meet the terms above, I will not charge you for any coaching meeting you find unsatisfactory, if you share your dissatisfaction at the time of the meeting or before our next meeting.

Ethical Guidelines:

As a Certified Master Coach and member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), I abide by their Ethical Guidelines.   Those guidelines can be seen at www.coachfederation.org/ethics/index.asp, and I can provide a copy if you'd like.

Please read this document carefully and get any and all questions answered before signing it.
