A couple of years ago, I started reading up on Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). Since then, I've continued reading and talking to people as I've learned that ADD is very common in entrepreneurs and other independent types of people (including me).

My friend Mary Sickel steered me to Dr. Daniel Amen, a controversial expert on the subject. I've found his stuff particularly interesting, and the link here will take you to an assessment that is designed for adults and will specify one of the six sub-types Amen has identified.

You will find the link to the assessment by clicking on the image of Amen's book, Healing ADD, above. If this subject is near and dear to you, I also recommend the book.

[By the way, locally, the best resource seems to be Gary Johnson, PhD, of the Loring Clinic in Minneapolis. His contact information is available on my networking section (click on "networking" on the menu to the left, then search on ADD, Loring, or Johnson) or by clicking on his name, here.]

Here's a bit about Amen that I took right from his site:

"Daniel G. Amen, M.D., is a clinical neuroscientist, a psychiatrist, and the medical director of The Amen Clinics in California. He is a nationally recognized expert in the fields of the brain, behavior and attention deficit disorders. Dr. Amen has pioneered the use of brain imaging in clinical psychiatric practice. His clinics have the world’s largest database of functional brain scans for neuropsychiatry."
